QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
Valid license appropriate for the assignment
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
Possesses knowledge and skills in problem and project-based learning and collaborative & cooperative learning with K-5 students.
Possesses experience and interest in working with children to participate in community services and experiential learning activities
Understands and utilizes diverse instructional methods to substantially enhance student learning in District approved learning outcomes. Methods include inquiry and directive teaching practices to mimic professional work and infuse engaging practices for learners.
Understands backward design related to vertical articulation of outcomes and success criteria and aligns all work with District learning standards.
Understands planning & delivering professional development activities through leading internal professional development for the campus and peers.
Experience

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Strategies
Design and deliver engaging STEM learning experiences that advance student learning and inspire creativity and innovation through
project based learning experiences and
Engineering Design Process
Provide choice and accommodations for differences in student learning styles
Integrate technology into meaningful learning experiences
Work cooperatively with administrators, team leaders, department coordinators, content specialists and other staff as needed to meet curriculum objectives
Utilize knowledge and skills in the areas of assessment, instruction, and curriculum to cause a substantial impact on student learning. Create an engaging and respectful learning environment using effective norms/agreements and protocols/routines, incorporating the ideas and perspectives of learners. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, preparing required reports on students and activities.
Work with colleagues to collect, analyze, and act upon learning and comportment data to support all learners and enhance instructional practices.
Involve themselves in their school and the school community, performing certain duties including, but not limited to, student support, counseling students with academic problems, supporting certain extracurricular activities, such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations, and participating in department, school, and parent meetings.
Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook, creating a classroom climate conducive to pupil intellectual, social, and emotional development
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision and evaluation of District personnel is not a requirement of this position; however, the supervision of students is required.
